About PrepLift
A child sits down with a maths question they cannot do. It is half past eight, the person who could explain it is at work or never learned it themselves, and the alternatives are a blank page in the morning or an answer copied off a website.
PrepLift is for that half hour. Your child photographs the question and gets the method — the rule named and written out, then the steps, in English or Hinglish. And then it stops, one operation short, and asks them to finish it.
Why it will not just tell them
Because a child handed the answer copies it down and learns nothing, and both of you find that out in an exam hall months later.
The answer is held back on our server rather than hidden in the page, so there is no inspecting the page to get it early. It opens the moment they attempt the last step — right or wrong — or when they say they are stuck. A child who asks plainly for the answer three times gets it too: the gate exists to stop us doing their homework, not to outlast a child who is genuinely lost.
What we tell parents
The parent view shows topics and effort: what they worked on, which skills are holding, which keep slipping, how many days they turned up. It does not show a score, because a number is something to argue about at dinner and a topic is something to help with.
It sits behind a PIN you set. Your child uses the app; the progress view is yours.
What it does not do yet
Worth knowing before you sign up rather than after:
- Only CBSE. ICSE and state boards are not covered.
- Maths for classes 3 to 8 and science for 6 to 8. No English, no social science.
- English and Hinglish. Not Hindi in Devanagari script.
- No spoken explanations yet. We built the voice and then did not ship it, because nobody had sat and listened to a whole Hinglish explanation end to end to check it was worth hearing.
- No mock tests or scored papers.
Children’s data
The people using this are between eight and thirteen, which changes what we are allowed to do and what we are willing to do. A parent consents before a child account is created. We do not profile children for advertising, we do not track them across other sites, and homework photographs are deleted on a schedule rather than kept.
The privacy policy says exactly what is stored and for how long, and deleting everything takes one request.
