Delete Your Data

You can have everything we hold about you erased, at any time, without giving a reason. This page explains exactly how, and exactly what disappears.

If you use PrepLift on WhatsApp

Either of these works:

• Message the bot the word delete my data from the number on the account.
• Email privacy@preplift.in from any address, telling us the WhatsApp number to delete.

Because the WhatsApp number is the account, we verify the request by replying to that number before anything is erased. That step exists to stop somebody else deleting a child’s account.

If you use the web platform

Email privacy@preplift.in from the address on the account with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm by replying to that address before we act.

If you are a parent or guardian

You may request deletion of your child’s account without their involvement. Email privacy@preplift.in with the child’s WhatsApp number and tell us you are the parent or guardian. We treat these as a priority and will not ask the child to approve it.

What gets deleted

• Your account and phone number.
• Every question you asked and every answer we sent.
• Your topic and progress history, and all practice attempts.
• Your chat session, saved solutions and any generated audio.
• Your class, board and language preferences.
• Web platform data: profile, submitted answers, results and bookmarks.

Deletion cascades — removing the account removes everything linked to it in the same operation, rather than leaving orphaned records behind.

What we cannot delete

• Payment records, where Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep them. These are financial records — amount, date, invoice number — not your study history.
• The conversation on your own phone. WhatsApp messages are stored on your device and on Meta’s systems under their terms. Clearing the chat on your phone is something only you can do.

There is nothing to delete where homework photos are concerned: they are never stored in the first place. A photo is read in memory and discarded once the answer is sent. The same is true of voice notes and PDFs.

How long it takes

We acknowledge within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, which is the outside limit rather than the expectation — most requests are done the same week. We will email or message you to confirm when it is finished.

If we get it wrong
