Terms and conditions

These cover app.preplift.in and this website. By setting up an account you agree to them, so they are written to be read rather than skipped.

1. Who may use PrepLift

An account is created by a parent or legal guardian over 18, for a child in their care. The parent agrees to these terms and consents to the processing described in the privacy policy. A child does not enter into this agreement; you do, on their behalf.

2. What PrepLift is for

It explains how to do a homework question. It deliberately stops one step short of the answer and asks your child to finish it, and it opens the full working once they have tried, or once they say they are stuck.

It is a study aid, not a tutor, not a teacher, and not a substitute for school. It does not mark official work and it has no standing with any board or examination authority.

3. What it covers

CBSE maths for classes 3 to 8 and science for classes 6 to 8, in English and Hinglish. Other boards, other subjects and other languages are not supported, and a question outside that range may get a poor answer or none at all.

4. It can be wrong

PrepLift is built on language models and on reading text out of photographs. Both make mistakes. An explanation may be wrong, may use a method your child’s teacher does not, or may misread a blurred photograph.

Where we are not confident, we say so on the answer itself. Please treat what it says as help with the method and not as a verified result, and check anything that matters with a teacher. We are not liable for marks lost to a wrong explanation.

5. Using it properly

You agree not to:

• Use it to cheat in an examination, a test, or any assessed work.
• Send content that is not schoolwork, or that is unlawful or abusive.
• Resell access, or share one account across families.
• Attempt to extract our prompts, scrape the service, or get around its limits.
• Upload a photograph containing someone else’s personal information.

We may suspend an account that does these things. Where we do, we will say why.

6. Photographs you send

They remain yours. You give us permission to process them in order to answer the question — to read the text out of them and to produce the explanation. We do not use your child’s homework to train models, and we do not publish it. They are deleted 90 days after they are sent.

7. Payment

Every family gets 14 days free, after which PrepLift is ₹399 a month for one child. No card is collected to begin. We are not yet able to take payments at all, so nothing can be charged to you today. When we do start, we will tell you in advance and no account moves onto a paid plan without choosing it; a trial ending does not start a subscription on its own. The refund policy sets out the rest.

8. Stopping

You can delete the account at any time — see Delete my data. We may close an account for a breach of these terms, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your child’s progress first.

9. Availability

We do not promise uninterrupted service. It is a small product, it has outages, and we would rather say so here than imply otherwise. We do not offer a service level guarantee while it is free.

10. Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Indian law. Subject to that, and because the service is currently free, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, which today is nothing. We are not liable for indirect losses, including examination results.

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use PrepLift afterwards means accepting the change.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Prayagraj have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to support@preplift.in — most things are settled by email.
